Eelis 1-year portraits

Today we had my sister with her kids at our place today. The younger one is our god son and it was time to take 1-year portraits of him.

This was a perfect kid photo shoot. I got all the equipment setup before Eelis woke up from his nap. When he woke up Anna fed him and then it was time to take some photos. With a full belly and good nap behind, Eelis was really cooperative. We ended up with about 150 shots in 15 minutes. The one above has to be one of my favorites. Some more of my favorites can be seen at: http://kansala.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Antti/2011-12-13%20Eelis%20potretteja/

For tech geeks:

Eelis was sitting on a lamb fur that was placed on a bench. The background was a white background cloth that was illuminated with two SB28s. The key light was a 60×60 softbox with a SB80 and I used a ringlight for fill. Even when the background SB28s were only at 1/4 power, the recycle time was only enough for 2-3 consecutive shots, after that they would not have time to recycle. Maybe I should get some more extra battery packs to enable quicker recycle times…? Below is a setup shot.
